Our Work Matters . . . One Connection At A Time

Our mission at Pelham Together is to empower youth and nurture resilience by fostering connections through civic engagement, work, service, social activities, mentorship, peer leadership, and mental health care. We provide information to parents and unite the community in service of our youth, recognizing that we share a responsibility for their well being.

For our young people, they can participate in our Youth Council and plan social and service activities for their peers promoting belonging, kindness, inclusivity and positive mental health; they can connect with and mentor younger peers and speak as youth advisors in various community forums advocating for fellow teens. They can find paid work and job experience through summer internships and as part of the Pelicones Ice Cream Truck team. They can attend Open Skate nights, dodgeball tournaments, hug-a-goat, Girl Talk social groups, Project Happiness, and so much more. And when they need, young people can find direct care and support through PT Counseling, where they receive short term therapy at low-to-no cost.

For parents and caregivers, we host large and small group speakers, films, and workshops addressing current topics of interest for a range of age groups. Topics include transitions to middle school, technology and social media, managing challenging behaviors and bullying, healthy relationships, and substance misuse. The current needs as expressed by the community always drive what we offer.

For the community as a whole, we host two large events designed to bring everyone together and celebrate our youth. SummerFest and WinterFest are large festivals of fun, food, music, and family activities for all ages. The focal point are the youth bands and musicians who unite us all in celebrating their talent. At SummerFest we celebrate outdoors, and can even include the popular Dog Parade for our furry friends! At WinterFest, we take it inside and include international one-pot meals celebrating the many traditions in our community, turning a cold and potentially lonely time into a warm one.

Pelham Together’s website houses a robust, searchable database of local mental health providers, their specialities, fees, contact information, and insurance details. We will help families find a provider that matches your needs, and we continuously update our online resources with current articles, websites, and research on many parenting and youth related topics.

Our programs are free to participate, but are not free to provide. We could not exist without the community support we receive. Thank you for always being there when we ask so that we can ensure we are always here for the youth and families in Pelham. Please consider making a gift to support our work this giving season. Thank you!
