Pelham Together is a not-for-profit, community-based organization that supports the physical, social, and mental wellbeing of our youth by establishing connections. We connect our youth to leadership, mentors, employment, social and service opportunities, and mental health resources. For parents/caregivers and families, we facilitate connections to one another and to relevant information on youth-related topics and risks.

Due to the growing need for affordable and accessible mental health services, Pelham Together is now provides counseling services to the young people in our community. This new youth counseling program, Pelham Together Counseling, provides short-term counseling to youth aged 7-21 years old. We will continue to provide the entire community with longer-term referrals to local providers as requested.

Approach
Pelham Together Counseling provides low-to-no cost, short-term counseling (3-6 months) to Pelham youth, aged 7-21. Program Director, Kim Trapasso, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, will supervise graduate-level, social work interns who will provide the therapy.  Counseling will take place in offices at Huguenot Memorial Church, walkable from the middle and high schools. Pricing will be based on a sliding scale, and families will determine their ability to pay. No one will be turned away for financial reasons. Insurance will not be necessary or accepted.

If it is determined that a client’s particular needs require more specialized care, staff will refer families to appropriate mental health services. Referrals will also be made after the 3-6 month time frame, if ongoing care is required. Pelham Together will continue to offer referral services for mental health supports at no cost. Information for this type of support can be found here.

For consultation or to schedule an appointment, please contact Kim Trapasso, LCSW at:
