Our Youth Council Focusing on Belonging, Kindness, and Inclusivity!

Our Youth Council started the year off strong with events that promoted belonging and reminding everyone the impact of kindness and positivity. Three events in particular have become real traditions at the high school and, in the last couple of years at the middle school too! Say Hi Day encourages students to say hi to someone they don’t already know. Instagram frames are provided to encourage photo taking! Tailgate Togethers happen at all the home football games. Students can plan to meet at the Pelham Together table where peers hand out candy, colored beads, and face paint. This helps kids join in when they might otherwise be hesitant to just show up. And last but in no way least, Positive Post Its gives everyone a lift, by spreading supportive and encouraging messages throughout the hallways. It feels good to write them, and to read them, so everyone wins.

And with these events taking place at the Middle School now, through the PT Club at PMS, these important themes and messages are sent earlier and earlier, increasing the impact! Bravo!
